EDAC’s waterproof USB connectors can accommodate many industrial devices and network applications that use a direct interface to a PC for programming, monitoring, and data collection, which require a degree of sealed protection from solids and provide some degree of liquid protection. EDAC’s waterproof USB connectors are available in mini type B 2.0 USB 5 pin male and female, type A USB 4 pin male and female, and Micro-USB SMT female 5 pin. They are IP67-protected, and solder-contact style. The contact material is comprised of phosphor bronze, gold plating, brass, and the housing is PBT with a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0. The shell is nickel plated for the waterproof USB 5 pin and steel-plated tin electrolytic for the waterproof USB 4 pin. The shell is matte tin plating over stainless steel for the Micro USB SMT female 5 pin. The O-ring seal for the waterproof USB 5 pin is silicone and for the waterproof USB 4 pin the O-Ring seal is made of Nitrile butadiene rubber also known as NBR or Buna-N. The Micro USB SMT 5 pin provides for a very small footprint, minimizing board spaced used.
