Designed for power-conscious, high-performance applications, NXP's QorIQ P1 processor family offers the value of integration in a 3 W power envelope for a wide variety of applications in the networking, telecom, industrial, aerospace, and defense markets. This platform provides single- and dual-core solutions for the 400 MHz to 1.2 GHz performance range along with advanced security features and a rich set of interfaces on 45 nm technology for low-power implementation. The QorIQ P1 platform provides excellent performance per watt, scalability to dual-core processing, and lower system cost due to its integrated system-on-chip (SoC) design and pin compatible offerings. The processors all operate in a < 3 W typical power envelope and advanced power management features are enabled on the P1022/P1013 solutions.
The P1 platform scales from a single core at 400 MHz to a dual core at 1.2 GHz per core, delivering an impressive 8X aggregate frequency range. The P1 family supports VeTSEC (Virtualized eTSEC) that includes enhancements to improved performance in a multicore SoC architecture. This includes virtualized interrupts to allow interrupts to be steered to any CPU core as well as advanced hashing logic to load balance traffic across CPU cores, thus improving performance and reducing CPU overhead.
