TPS2582x USB Source Controller and Power Switch: OMO Electronic TPS2582x USB Type-C 1.5A Source Controller and Integrated Power Switch determine when a USB sink is attached by monitoring the Type-C configuration channel (CC) lines. The TPS2582x applies power to VBUS and communicates the selectable VBUS current sourcing capability to the sink via the pass-through CC line when a sink is attached. The TPS2582x also applies VCONN power to the cable VCONN pin, if the sink is attached with an electronically marked cable. The TPS2582x is for functions where VCONN is not needed, such as USB 2.0 and data-less charging implementations, as the TPS25821 does not apply VCONN power.
