***AS INSRUMENTS: The TPS54541 device is a 42-V 5-A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. The device survives load dump pulses up to 45 V per ISO 7637. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low-ripple pulse-skip mode reduces the no-load supply current to 152 µA. When the enable pin is pulled low, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 2 µA.

***TEXAS: Undervoltage lockout is internally set at 4.3 V but can increase using an external resistor divider at the enable pin. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the soft-start pin that can also be configured for sequencing and tracking. An open-drain power-good signal indicates the output is within 93% to 106% of the nominal voltage.

***INS: A wide adjustable switching-frequency range allows for optimization of either efficiency or external component size. Cycle-by-cycle current limit, frequency foldback, and thermal shutdown protect internal and external components during an overload condition.

***TEXAS: The TPS54541 device is available in a 10-pin 4-mm × 4-mm WSON package.

TPS543xx/-Q1 & TPS545xx/Q1 DC-DC Converters: OMO Electronic TPS543xx/-Q1 and TPS545xx/-Q1 are 42V input 3.5A and 5A step-down DC-DC converters with an integrated high side MOSFET. TI TPS54360 and TPS54560 are 60V input 3.5A and 5A DC-DC converters with integrated high side MOSFET. TPS54341 / TPS54541 and TPS54361 / TPS54561 devices offer 100kHz to 2.5MHz adjustable switching frequency while TPS543x0 and TPS545x0 devices have 100kHz to 2.5MHz fixed switching frequency. These TI step-down converters survive load dump pulses up to 65V per ISO 7637. All of the parts offer high efficiency at light loads with pulse skipping Eco-mode. The TPS543xx-Q1 & TPS545xx-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

TPS54 Step Down SWIFT DC/DC Converters: OMO Electronic TPS54 Step-Down SWIFT DC-DC Converters provide input transient voltage protection that allows the device and the rest of a board to survive potentially damaging voltage spikes. These TI DC/DC converters retain low output voltage even with a 60V transient voltage pulse. The high-performance TPS54 DC/DC converter family also provides light load efficiency, low quiescent current (ideal for applications based on TI MSP430 MCUs), a high switching frequency, and a small package size for space-limited designs. These DC-DC converters are a more basic version that provides ease of use, higher currents, and internal compensation.
